Seth Newton was born in the outskirts of Worcester, Massachusetts. He began playing music at the age of ten and by the age of twelve was performing professionally in notable hard rock venues throughout New England. Since then he has completed multiple nationwide tours, worked with a vast array of creative musical groups and artists, successfully completed multiple recordings / albums including sessions at Longview Farms Studios (MA), Nada Recording Studios (NY) and the private studio of Jesse Cannon (asst. Ross Robinson) in New Jersey.
Seth Newton has performed for thousands of people and shared the stage with a countless number of well known acts including Deftones, Free Dominguez (Kidneythieves), Jimmy Gnecco&Static(Ours). In November 2011, he began recording his debut solo album titled 'Lost At Sea' at the Watershops Recording Studios in Springfield, Massachusetts. The album was officially released on April 27th, 2012. The first run of physical copies sold out within months.
Since his debut release, Seth has toured the Eastern U.S. performing solo, reaching the #1 spot in the Singer / Songwriter charts on the website ReverbNation and returning to The Watershops Recording Studios in January 2013 to record the sophomore album titled 'Phoenix' which was released on April 26th, 2013.
The following months were spent performing in renowned venues throughout New England (The Worcester Palladium, The Iron Horse Music Hall, etc) in support of 'Phoenix'.
Seth returned to The Watershops Recording Studios in February of 2014 to begin recording his third release titled, 'Glory'.The album was released on May 10th, 2014 followed by a nine month hiatus from performing his solo music in a live setting.
Returning from his hiatus with a bang by opening for renowned indie group MAE downstairs at The Worcester Palladium in January of 2015. He was also nominated for 'Best Male Vocalist' in a readers poll in the New England 'Limelight Magazine Music Awards'. Seth recorded and released a two song EP titled 'the Hexed EP' that same Spring.
2015 also brought about Seth breaking completely free from his nine month hiatus from performing live to perform at some of his and his fans favorite venues such as the Iron Horse Music Hall, The Worcester Palladium and noted private performance events in New York City.
In August 2015, Seth released a brand new song 'Vanity' in the form of a studio single, recorded with friend and backing musician, Andrew Atkin at Thread Arts Collective in Easthampton, Massachusetts.
At the dawn of 2016, Seth spontaneously decided to audition for NBC television series 'The Voice' which resulted in callbacks and further meetings, etc. At this time, any possible future details are under wraps.
During the Fall of 2015 into the Winter and Spring of 2016, Seth worked on writing and recording further solo acoustic works as well as a number of studio tracks for a solo electronic side project titled 'BLACK ROSE'.
The studio single 'Without You' was released in July 2016, followed by the release of 'Marionette' in the late winter / early spring of 2017 with Andrew Atkin. After returning from one of his longest stretches of touring (seventy days) from Summer to the end of the year, Seth released single 'Lead Me On', demos from his title the 'Mo{u}rning' EP & live album 'LIVE @ Rockwood Music Hall in the beginning of 2018.
By the spring, releases including the singles 'Get Right', 'Tidal' & 'When It Rains' were put out for the public before embarking on another U.S. tour across the country, returning to the East Coast in the fall.
Performing over 150 shows & touring almost 7,000 miles just this year.
Currently, Seth is touring the country and performing various notable concert events throughout the United States as well as spending time in the studio working on further releases.
In October of 2018, Seth announced the official collaboration with Grind Ethos Records ( Brooklyn, New York City ) on a future release. Work began on a new single titled '' Doll Parts ''. On January 11th in the new year, the official release dates for the new single were announced with an exclusive release on Thursday, February 14th
( Valentine's Day ) and international public release the following day.
UPDATES & ANNOUNCEMENTS : Spending the Spring of 2019 writing and recording more new material & performing at rare select concert events, Seth and the Grind Ethos Records team is preparing to release a follow up to the early year single 'Doll Parts'. The two song, rough EP tentatively titled the 'Ocean demos' is projected to be released in the mid to late summer on streaming services worldwide.
